About Us

Almost since the beginning of Appian Media, people asked if we would ever start leading tours to the places we made videos about. For various reasons, the timing just wasn’t right, and we wanted to make sure we took the time to develop tours that would match the same standards we aimed for with our videos. Besides, Barry was already leading tours! However, we are excited to announce the beginning of a new company, Appian Expeditions! This new company will plan regular group tours to the places you have seen in Appian Media videos, as well as develop custom tours for small groups who desire help organizing a personal adventure. Our first tour is confirmed for September 2024, and we are already making plans for 2025! If you would like to receive updates on upcoming tours, sign up for our email list at the bottom of the page. If you would like help planning a personal trip, please contact us.

Barry Britnell lives in Athens, Alabama with his wife Tabatha and their children. Despite having a love for travel, Barry did not travel to Israel until 2010. Since that time, he started leading tours to Israel and has made a total of 12 trips to that beautiful country. In addition to leading tours, Barry works full-time as a software engineer while teaching and preaching about Biblical geography. In 2016 he started volunteering with Appian Media, to create Biblically accurate media to be used in teaching others about the Bible. In addition to Israel, Barry has traveled to Jordan, Egypt, Great Britain, Scotland, France, Switzerland, Canada, and Mexico.

Jeremy Dehut lives outside of Louisville, Kentucky with his wife Anna, and their children. Jeremy began traveling when he was 12 years old, saving up his paper-route money and flying to Alaska on his own to visit a childhood friend and watch the northern lights.

Jeremy and Anna made their first trip to Israel in 2015 on a group tour led by Barry Britnell. In 2016 Appian Media invited Jeremy to co-host Biblically accurate media to help people in their pursuit of God. Since then, he has made three production trips to Israel, as well as Turkey, Egypt, and Jordan.

When he’s not traveling, Jeremy works as an evangelist, preaching, teaching, and using the Bible to counsel people seeking help in their growth as disciples of Jesus.

Jeremy has also traveled to Lithuania, the Philippine Islands, South Africa, and Mozambique. He currently has plans to visit Sierra Leone and India before the summer of 2024.

Dan Kingsley, his wife Paula, and their six kids live in Florence, Alabama. Dan has traveled his whole life and doesn’t even remember his first plane ride as he was just weeks old. He grew up traveling all over the US with his family, and he has continued that tradition with his family, having been to all 50 state capitols with them. Dan and Paula’s first trips overseas were on mission trips.

Although he is an oncologist, Dan’s desire to incorporate geography, archaeology, and media into his Bible teaching led to his first trip to the lands of the Bible in 2011. Since then, Dan has traveled extensively with 15 trips to Israel, as well as Turkey, Greece, Jordan, Egypt, and Italy. Appian Media became a big part of Dan’s life starting in 2016, and he has been on multiple production trips, mainly behind the scenes as a researcher, executive producer, and stills photographer.

He also has traveled in Germany, France, Belgium, Luxenberg, England, Netherlands, Austria, Romania, China, Canada, and Mexico. He was able to both assist and lead his first tours in 2022.
